Confidentiality
In order to ensure that Online Wellness Association meets its mission to provide a safe platform for practitioners to build successful practices online, and for potential clients to feel safe when choosing a practitioner, it is necessary to have personal and professional information on file for each member. Information requested will be limited to information that is necessary and appropriate to verify legitimacy of the applicant. OWA has provisions in place to maintain confidential records, and for the proper disposition of confidential records. OWA will not engage in the sale, trade, or disclosure of any information obtained by OWA for purposes of approving membership applications. All OWA approved practitioners are required to adhere to all federal and state laws regarding confidentiality, while adhering to the responsibility to report clinical information in specific circumstances to the appropriate authorities. All OWA Members are responsible for maintaining strict confidentiality of their personal and/or client information, and must adhere to the ethical guidelines of their practices.
